Summerside Lobster Carnival

12:00 pm:  Lobster Carnival Grounds and East Coast Amusement Midway Open

Credit Union Place grounds, 511 Notre Dame Street - Look for the Carnival Tents and Midway on Rufus Street entrance – plenty of free parking between the carnival grounds and Red Shores Summerside Raceway.

 

 

Lobster Culinary Demonstration and Food Tent –

PEI lobster, and lobster salsa with taco chips available throughout the afternoon. Purchase tickets (also Lobster Supper tickets) at the Lobster Trap Merchandise Store located inside the tent.
Visit the Lobster Prince Edward Island Booth. Water station available.

12 noon: Lobster 101 Demonstration and Taste Testing:  How to buy, cook, and open lobster with Chef Robert Pendergast and Chef Tyler J. Gallant.

 

1:00 pm: Summerside Lobster Carnival Biscuit and Roll Competition: Islanders love their rolls and biscuits making for an intense competition with great prizes. 1st prize: $100, 2nd: $75, 3rd: $50. Sea shanties performed during the judging by Mike Pendergast. Complimentary tea and bakery biscuit served. Click here for categories and entry form. 

 

2:00 pm: Lobster Demonstration and Taste Testing: Lobster Filled PEI Potatoes

 

4:00 pm: Tent closes to prepare for Community Barbeque. Lobster can be purchased until 4 pm.

 

4:00 pm: Official Opening - Community Barbeque sponsored by Key Murray Law. Complimentary food with lobster taste testing, high energy East Coast entertainment by Steve Perry, John Campbell, and Bobby Maclean.

2:30 pm: "Stiff Family Bluegrass" Show

5:45 pm – 6:00 pm: Registration for the Journal Pioneer Lobster Trap Stacking Competition

 

6:00 pm: Journal Pioneer Lobster Trap Stacking Competition: Island lobster fishers or crew members compete in this marathon sport for the fastest time moving and stacking lobster traps. 1st prize: $1000, 2nd: $300, 3rd: $200. 

6:30 pm: Registration for the PEI Youth Talent Search Competition (Entertainment tent).

 

7:00 pm: PEI Youth Talent Search Competition proudly presented by PEI Mutual Insurance Company PEI Association of Exhibitions. Winner represents the Summerside Lobster Carnival at the provincial finals. Open to Island youth ages 13- 21. 1st place: $300, 2nd: $150, 3rd: $75

 

8:00 pm: Summerside Lobster Carnival Amateur Country Music Talent Competition. PEI amateur country singers compete to be named winners of the impressive prizes. 1st place: $3000, 2nd: $1000, 3rd: $500. 

 

10:00- 10:30 pm: Variety Fire Show presented by Circus Surreal.

 

11:00 pm: Grounds and midway close – reopen 12 noon Friday.

7 pm: Summerside Lobster Carnival Trivia Championships sponsored by StandardAero. Hosted by Wil MacDonald. Trivia teams compete to the best! First Prize: $600, Second Prize: $300, Third Prize: $100. 

 

Ice Pond Nature - Greenwood Drive across from Carnival Grounds

4 pm to 6 pm: Remote Control Boat Demonstration. Bedeque Bay Environmental Management Association (BBEMA) will demonstrate the running and racing of remote control boats.
